Some people have gone to computer games, but I like the live face to face interaction that a game gives you. Runebound has the flavor of such a game in a boardgame format. You go on a quest, raise allies, improve your skills as you try to succeed in your mission. The Crown and Elder Kings Expansion gives you new allies, missions and can be played over and over.
