(More customer reviews)In Trumpet, you begin with no trump cards, taking tricks by high-card only. Until one player lands on the Choose Trump space; then he selects one of the six suits as the new trump, presumably, a suit he holds in his hand.
Before long, someone else gets to choose a new trump, which supercedes but does not eliminate the first trump. Now we have a trump suit and a higher trump suit, and soon we have three, four, and then five trumps.
The game really gets good when all six suits are trump, each in its set order of preference. Then, the next player to choose trump actually switches two of the established trump suits. Thus, those lovely high-trump cards you were saving suddenly become bottom-of-the-barrel low-trump cards. but don't despair; you can hopefully rearrange trump again before too long, putting your preferred suits at the top of the heap.
Warning: the instructions contain a mistake. There should be 11 cards in each of 6 suits, plus 3 Trumpet (wild) cards for a total of 69, not 73, as the instructions tell you. Don't think your game is incomplete.

Trumpet is a card game in which any card can be a winner! The lead changes unpredictably as each of the 6 Trump suits has it's turn at the top!
