The children, ages 3 and 4, enjoy playing this game well enough. The action of the game is same as in Candyland, so if they like Candyland there is no reason why they should not like this one.
Have they learned the fruits of the Spirit? Not yet. It is up to the parents to associate the given virtue with the picture symbol used on the cards. For example, the connection between a paint brush and self-control may not be immediately obvious; the connection between a musical note and joy a little more obvious (think the Ninth Symphony); and associating the picture of a Bible with faith should present no conceptual difficulty.
One minor footnote, I believe Catholics identify twelve fruits of the Holy Spirit, while this game is based on nine fruits.
