(More customer reviews)"UNO" has been a fixture in my life for many years. Whenever my sister and I would go to the grandparents' house, we would play either "Trouble" or "UNO." This game is very popular on long bus rides to and from school activities. And it is also a great way to pass the time with friends on Friday and Saturday nights by having "UNO" tournaments(...) This card game is very fun to play. Like I said earlier, whether it's bus rides or college dorm rooms, UNO is a great way to pass the time. Some people I play with get really into it; it's funny to watch people get legitimately angry with you when you lay the SKIP card or the DRAW 4 card on them constantly. It's equally as interesting to watch those same people become your best friend when you bale them out of a sticky situation. "UNO" is one of those games that can go on for hours, and no one would even notice.
Not sure how educational it could be, though there is a definite amount of strategy involved. "Do I lay down the Blue 4 or the Blue 9? What if Susie has a Red 4 and can change the color?" These kinds of thoughts can become critical when the game is winding down and someone is close to winning. Strategy (and a little bit of luck) factor into this game. You've got to be able to outwit your opponents in this game, and sometimes you can shoot yourself in the foot by plotting too much. It will definitely test you, that's for sure.
As long as no one steps on the box or the card holder, everything should be fine. The cards are relatively thick-stock, so they won't wear as much. And the corners of the cards are rounded, so you don't have to worry about dinging them if you happen to drop them.
In short, "UNO" is a classic card game. It will be a game that is played in many homes, school buses and dorm rooms for years to come. If you haven't experienced the magic of "UNO," I suggest you try it.
