(More customer reviews)I inherited a older version of this game which used different shaped plastic pieces instead of cardboard discs, but the game is the same. It's the only game I've found so far which everyone can play, cooperate with each other, show mercy to an opponent and still have fun. By cooperating with each other, players can get what they need (one of each disc type) by sharing with each other and uniting against the sleeping giant (grump), but still be kind enough to leave some for the grump in the hope that he won't be so greedy any more if he already has one of each thing. It teaches cooperation, kindness and unity; how good is that? My 4 year old adores it!

Sleeping Grump is a fun, story adventure game that encourages cooperative play. Players help each other and are never 'against' each other enabling youngsters to play with older brothers and sisters without always being beaten. These are great family games. In this game, the Grump has taken the villagers' treasures and is now fast asleep at the top of the beanstalk. Together, players climb the stalk to recover their treasures. The Grump must not be awakened or he takes back everything. Players share the treasures and leave some behind for the Grump. Their kindness will help change him. The game is won when everyone has some of the treasure. Top Rating by Canada Toy Testing. For ages 4 - 7 years. 2-4 players.
