(More customer reviews)This is a great family game. I'm a boardgamer (Lord of the rings, memoir 44, arkham horror) and sometimes my ten year old daughter isn't into the slower paced games. She (and the rest of the family) loved this one. The components are attractive and well made (the little jewels one collects are multi-colored crystals). The board art is nice as are the mechanics. Each player is a dwarf assisting Bilbo the hobbit on his journey to the lonely mountain to steal treasure from Smaug the dragon. The players keep a hand of numbered cards and each round secretly "bid" on various actions to be taken. Bilbo advances along his path and at key locations there is the opportunity to try for treasure. There is a lot of luck involved but that never bothers me if mixed with some skill and good storyline. If you are a fan of lord of the rings this is a must have.
