(More customer reviews)This is a great quality, inexpensive go set. Yes, the bowls are plastic. No, the stones are not shell and slate. But for under $50 you get a sturdy board that's a single piece of solid wood, and most importantly, large enough to make playing 19x19 comfortable. Every other cheap set has a 12" square board and that's simply too small. The stones have noticeable weight and fit easily next to each other on the board. You could definitely get a nicer set - as long you're willing to pay a much higher price. For what it is, this is a great deal.
