(More customer reviews)I run a family daycare and bought this item last year. Hands down it is the MOST used toy in the place. It's fantastic for the kids to be able to build in another dimension besides table top. It's extended their imagination! Having the 'trays' right under the wall is perfect. When the kids want to build on a table-top, or the floor they know just where the duplos are! It's very sturdy and has withstood constant play for over a year and still looks brand new! I cannot recommend this enough!

(More customer reviews)Because this was such an expensive item I did my homework before purchasing the table. I looked at some cheaper tables to begin with but found that they couldn't come close to the Thomas table by Learning Curve. This table is made of solid wood and took me about 5 minutes to put together. I was able to get the playmat for free with the table through a promotion Toys R Us was having at the time of purchase. Another thing that sold me on the Thomas table was that this is the same table they have at Barrnes and Noble and you can imagine how many children play on that day after day. We have the table set up in our son's playroom since it is such a large piece. Unlike many other toys we have purchased in the past, this is one that we will save for years to come. They are expensive, but they are also made well and come with a lifetime guarantee. If you have a problem with one of their products you simply send it to them with a letter and within about 1-2 business weeks they will send you a brand new item. If you are looking to buy a train table I would highly recommend this one. Though it is more expensive, it is worth it in the long run. Why spend $80-$100 on a table that is only going to last a year or so when you can spend a little more and save it forever? One other hint...Michael's Arts and Crafts and A.C. Moore Craft Stores also carry a decent amount of the wooden Thomas toys. Look in your local paper for their 40% off coupons. They apply to Thomas and Friends which makes it a lot more affordable. :)

Step2 Deluxe Canyon Road Train & Track Table Review

He had gotten some wooden tracks and everytime someone would set them up for him he would tear them all apart and we would spend the next 1/2 hour searching for them all just a nightmare! The best thing about this is everything is connected no mess to clean up. My son has some wooden Thomas trains and some Play Along Thomas trains (metal ones) the problem with having the two different kinds of trains is none of the tracks would be compatible for both sets however this table really has no tracks only roads with stickers that look like tracks making it virtually possible to fit any small vehicle including hot wheels. My son has spent numerous hours everyday playing with this. The only time the lid goes on is after he goes to bed when I pick up his toys. I like that now I can store all his 50 some Thomas trains inside. Harold the Helicopter even has his own sticker landing pad. This was very easy to put together took at the most 10 minutes. The hardest part was my 2 year old son was standing next to me and when I was trying to put the decals on and was having the trains race at the same time. This table set has one bad thing and that is the little train and cars that came with my table were very cheap and arrived with wheels broken off one and a little windshield broken off of another this could create a choking hazard for little ones. I threw them all away! I did get a pamphlet to register my product with Step 2 and when I went to their website I found that this toy was rated one of the top 5 pre-school toys of 2005 by the Today Show! One more thing I want to mention is I did purchase it through this website it says on product info that it usually ships within 2-3 days well it took over a week to ship! It took 2 weeks from date of purchase until it arrived so if you are buying this for an event where you will need it by a certain date I would recommend purchasing it ahead of time.

(More customer reviews)Our 2 1/2 year old loves building with his "big boy" Lego's, so we ordered him this table, but the board is not as Lego compatible as it could be. Our 2 1/2 year old has a hard time sticking his Lego's to this board, but has no problems sticking his Lego's on his Lego brand boards. If you line up the Lego brand boards next to the boards on this table, you'll see that they don't line up exactly the same. The boards this table uses are not that compatible with Lego's, therefor I don't recommend it to the really young ones who don't yet have the strength and control to really push down on the small Lego's.

I have a 5 year old girl and a 1 year old boy and every time we go to one of those stores with a train set like this one out for the kids to try I always have a hard time dragging my kids away. Well, now my kids can play with a train set as long as they want!
This set comes with the perfect amount of trains, cars, and track for several kids to play at once and keep one kid entertained for hours.
My kids are also fond of Thomas the Train whose vehicles are fully compatible.
The table is very sturdy while the 120 piece train set is also well made and you cannot beat the price which I would have been willing to spend just for the table alone.
I would highly recommend this set to anyone whose kids like trains or have had to be pried away from an in store display.

Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway - Island Adventure Playboard Learning Curve Review

(More customer reviews)We have a collection of Thomas and Brio trains and track, and use this playboard on a table that we built. While it is impossible to actually construct track that stays on "dry land" (some of the playboard scenery is rivers etc) this background scenery does add to our enjoyment of the playing with trains. The whole family (ages 1 to 30-something) enjoys constructing new layouts.
This board can easily be damaged in transit. Our second attempt was successful. I advise you to order this well before you need it.
NOTE: We've had this for 4 years or so now. The plastic coating has all peeled off. It still looks nice though and is being used by another toddler now.When we bought this, it was the only good option for playing with trains; now there are so many basic playtables that could be used for a multitude of activities (puzzles, cars, blocks) - that I would buy something more versatile rather than this train themed tabletop.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Multi-Activity Table Review

(More customer reviews)As the price indicates, this isn't a high-quality table. But, it serves its purpose. We preferred to spend more money on a nice train set, and save some cash by getting a lower-end table. The pros are that it is very roomy and has a storage drawer which accommodates our 130-piece set. The cons are that it is already showing several scuff marks on the white paint, and it's only a month old. It was extremely easy to assemble, and took about 30-45 minutes. Note that it is quite low to the ground. Our two-year-old has to be on his knees to play with it. So, if you're looking for a table that your child can stand at, this one's not for you.
