Bananagrams 6 Games S Review

I was given a Spanish version of Bananagrams that I used for my Spanish classes. I was so impressed that I invested in 6 sets of the English version from Amazon. The "Scrabble-like" format, but on an individual basis, uses all of the player's own tiles. It creates a need for quick action to compose a crossword using all of their tiles first. My colleagues and I use them for reinforcment in reading and spelling and as incentive rewards. What a nifty tool! Students quickly learn word patterns. Students are fully engaged and don't hesitate to challenge each other's words too. The most often heard phrase? "Is_______ a word?"

Got this game for my 12 y/o grandson for Christmas. At first he didn't show much interest in it (after all it's not electronic, hahaha!) But once we talked him into playing a game, he couldn't stop. The pad is great for keeping score on and giving suggestions of different versions of the game. Thank You.

Rummino - A Rummy Meets Dominoes Board Game Review

Rummino - A Rummy Meets Dominoes Board Game

I love games. Board games, card games, video games, you name it, I'm interested. When I was in elementary school, my family would have game night ever night after finishing our homework and eating dinner. We would play a different game each night. I can remember how much I looked forward to our game playing. My mom, dad, sister and I had time to ourselves and that meant more to me than anything else. As you've probably guessed, I had a wonderful childhood.
Dad taught me how to play Rummy when I was five years old and still to this day it is one of my favorite games. Rummino is a Rummy meets Scrabble type of game. This game can be played with 2 or more player and is geared toward ages 8 and older. To win, you have to be the player with the most points.
My husband kicked my butt. Don't worry, I've demanded a re-match for tonight. I hope he's prepared to lose. We had a lot of fun trying to outsmart each other. This is a great game to bring family together.

Rummino is a whole new way to play Rummy! Combining the game play of Rummy with the strategy of word tile games, Rummino is a one of a kind master strategy game for the whole family. This game is played like Rummy meets dominoes. The object is to get the highest score at the end of the game. Each player draws 7 tiles and plays them off the sets and runs already on the table. Earn points for every tile you 'add-on' to a run or set. Get a two way run and earn extra points. Finish off a run or set and double or triple your points for that play. The perfect game for family game night, Rummino is easy to learn and fun for the whole family to play! With its ease of learning combined with the strategy involved, this game keeps everyone entertained from the 8 year old learning to play games to the skilled adults desiring a challenge. Watch your opponents moan and groan as you use one tile to score 36 points!Gather your buddies, gather your family, gather all your gaming friends and play Rummino today!

Pairs in Pears Review

Pairs in Pears

We are Bananagram fans. So the idea of new games - Pairs in Pears and Appleletters built up some serious excitement.
Neither of the new games quite hit the potential of Bananagrams. Without the predecessor, either of these would have been new, fun and creative.
Pairs is a very fast moving game. The goal is to create two or three two word sets. Ideally, you will have matching "suite" letters (there are four different suites) which increases the point value of the win. The more letters you use, the better the score.
We played several "hands" then moved on to Appleletters in the same evening. All of us (five from age 24 to 52) preferred Appleletters to Pairs in Pears but loved Bananagrams the best. One of the fun things that we didn't do but thought of would be to turn all the tiles face down and play a huge memory game or turn it into a rummy type of game where you collect suits of letters. If you have Pairs, be creative and see what you can come up with. If you haven't purchased Pairs in Pears and are wondering which of the three to buy, Bananagrams is the best in our opinion, but Pairs wouldn't be a waste, especially if you can get a good deal.

We found out about bananagrams from a friend of ours. ever since that its been a big hit for our family. We bought the jumbo set, which is two bananas. When you combine the tiles it makes the pile bigger which creates a longer and more complex game. Its a little more challenging because you get twice the tiles and have to make a bigger crossword.
