(More customer reviews)My 3-year-old daughter, who is fond of Disney Princesses was given a Cinderella Princess Fashion Set and a Disney Prince one. She was thrilled with them initially and she still would be willing to play. The problem is she continuously needs our assistance. This is certainly not a toy for a 3-year old, or even a 4-year old. Not unless you are willing to fit the dresses onto the little doll yourself (so, Age: 20+). Giving that the whole point of the toy is changing the dresses, this sort of defeats the purpose. I am sure (slash hoping) by the time my daughter is able to fit the dresses on, she won't be interested in this sort of toys anymore.
There is one plastic doll, with movable arms and legs and two (Princess) or four (Prince) interchangeable heads. The heads have to be pushed on pretty hard onto a pin on the neck. Our prince neck broke about one hour after unwrapping the toy, which ruins the whole thing, unless the kid is willing to play Sleeping Hollow (and ours wasn't). The movable limb feature is only good if the dolls are naked.....The clothes are made by a rather thick gummy plastic. Once dressed, the doll cannot move the limbs, as they are pulled back into place by the clothes.
Now, the dressing up..... It takes me about one or two minutes of struggle to fit one dress on. Not a fun process for me, too difficult for my daughter. Obviously, after about 3 minutes she asks me to change the dress. I give up after two or three changes and she gets bored. During the fitting process, the clothes get stretched a lot and many of the decorations start peeling off after the first couple of changes, since they are not as elastic as the underneath clothes. one star.
We have Barbie-size Disney Princess dolls. I will get some Barbie clothes for them and I am sure these toys will never get used again.
