(More customer reviews)This is one of my favourite of hundreds of puzzles.This puzzle has been popular for a long time,and will provide endless hours of entertainment for young or old .It takes only a few seconds to learn how to play;but to end up with only one marble in the center is a challenge.
I have several versions of this puzzle .The most popular version is as pictured with 33 pegs.It comes in several other configurations and number of pegs .
However,sticking with this version,there are several things to consider.
It comes in small sizes,that make it very portable;but also large and/or elaborate ,suitable as a table decoration.Prices range from a dollar or so up to hundreds.They are made in plastic,wood,metal or glass;with wooden,glass,semi-precious gemstones,metal,ceramic,or whatever,pegs or marbles.
If you view several of those available,you will note that some have no place to put the pegs once removed,some have a trough around the outside to hold them.My favorite opens up and has a space to hold the pegs when playing or for storing.There are an infinite number of these game/puzzles, but over the years some have been much more popular and long enduring.This solitaire puzzle ranks with such classics as the 15-Puzzle,Tangrams,Rubik's Cube,and Towers of Hanoi.
If you are looking for something to have available to entertain young or old,you can't go wrong with this popular game.You will also impress others, and even yourself ,when you show them how simple it is to solve---if you know how.
Here's a solution for you.
Numbering the holes from left to right,top to bottom.
With all pegs in place;remove 17(in the center)
Now remove pegs by jumping in this sequence:
5-17 (this means take peg in hole 5,jump over peg in hole 10,then place in
empty hole 17).Got it? now here's the next moves;

12-10
3-11
18-6
1-3
3-11
30-18
27-25
24-26
13-27-25
22-24
31-23
4-16
7-9
10-8
21-7-9
24-10-8-22-24-26
19-17
16-18

After going through this series of moves;youll be surprised that it becomes quite easy to remember. Once you have this solution mastered;now try timing yourself in how fast you can solve it.
