My kids (ages 3 and 1) like this game (of course, the one-year old just likes to bop to the music!), but I found it lacking a bit. First of all, I was expecting to be able to hear the whole song, lyrics and all, once I got it out of the "try me" mode. But even after pulling out the demo tab, it still only plays the "introduction" to the song over and over. It is instrumental only; no singing. Secondly, when the lion wakes up and "roars", the first sound he makes sounds more like a burp than a roar to me. Then he roars--or should I say "yawns"--a sleepy-sounding roar. It is not the least bit scary (not to my kids, anyway), and it isn't very loud either (which is probably a good thing!). The game itself is pretty simple: take turns rolling the number cube, and either go to that color square on the board, or use the number and count ahead that many spaces. Go to the next bush space if you roll the bush picture. When the lion "roars", move your playing piece back to the closest bush behind you. (If you're already on one, you stay put.) Then re-set the lions head to sleeping position, push the "snooze" button to start the music, and begin taking turns again. The first one to the picnic wins the game. I think it might be more fun if when the lion roars, you have to go back to the bush that's the same color as your playing piece (only stay put if you happen to already be on the right color of bush). This would make the game last a little longer, but would mean some players would have to go back a lot more than just a space or two when the lion roars. Could be more fun that way...just an idea. Overall, I think the idea of this game is really cute, it just lacks something in the "fun" factor. (By comparison, my kids got "Don't Wake Daddy" last Christmas and LOVED it! The idea is actually similar to this game, but it has the "fun" factor that this game is lacking.)

Can you help the animal friends get to the picnic without being caught by the lion' This fun game incorporates the popular music from the song, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" into a game that keeps kids laughing as they try not to wake the lion.
Join four animal friends as they try to make it through the jungle to the animal picnic. Sounds easy, but there is a sleeping lion between the start and finish, and if he wakes up, it sends everyone scurrying back to the nearest bush to hide until the lion goes back to sleep.
