You can take my 5 stars with a grain of salt if you prefer, but as one of the original creators of this game I felt the need to clarify something for consumers. Quelf Jr. was originally developed as FlapDoodle, and is now re-named Quelf Jr.
If you like Quelf, Quelf Jr. will be a great addition to the family game cupboard for your younger kids. Even if you don't like Quelf or don't know what it is, Quelf Jr. is still a must-have game for kids under 10.
My point of clarification is this -- The Amazon description of Quelf Jr., is actually the description from the regular adult Quelf game. For Quelf Jr. there are not 5 separate categories of cards, just Flapdoodle cards, Goody Gumdrops cards and Mr. SourFace cards. Kids move around the board by drawing cards and doing what the card says. If they complete the task (example: 'Name three people who have never been in your kitchen.' Or, 'Name five different flavors of ice cream.' Or, 'Say three things that you think a dog would say if it could talk.')the number on the card tells them how many spaces to move ahead. If they land on a Ms. Goody Gumdrops space they can draw a corresponding card to get help to move ahead (example: 'Ms. Goody Gumdrops loves pizza. If you had pizza this week, say what kind it was and move ahead 1 space.'). If kids draw a Mr. Sourface card they have to go back (example: 'Mr. Sourface says that you have to watch out for skunks who drive tractors. Go back 2 spaces.').
Only the name has changed and the box cover. The insides are the same and all the cards are the same. Read a great review from the now defunct, but formerly awesome parent's magazine Cookie here:[...]
Perhaps I am biased, but it really is a fun and imaginative game that was designed to get kids, thinking, talking, reading and laughing together. Good wholesome fun.

Imagination Quelf Jr. Board Game, we've taken the successful adult game and brought it to life for the younger board game player to enjoy. The kids will have a blast as they "obey the card" and start to do random silly things. If it's a Roolz card, you may have to "Lick your teeth and say Willy Wonka has arrived" every time you draw a card for the whole game. Or answer a trivia question from a Quizzle card, laugh yourself silly following the Stunz and Showbiz instruction cards (can you drink a glass of water from the opposite side of the glass?) or force an All Play with your own choice of question in Scatterbrainz. If you're the first player to the board's finish space and can give two answers to the final Scatterbrainz question, the game is yours, recommended 6 and up, 3 to 8 players.Warning Choking Hazard! Contains small parts, not for children under 3.
