I ordered this for my 3.5 year old to keep him occupied during a long car trip. He has been bored with his magnadoodle, so I wanted something he could be creative with that didn't make too much of a mess (no crayons or markers). It's kind of like a Lite Brite (little colored pegs you stick into a board), but without the light bulb or power cord. He loves the pretty colors, and usually has me help him make letters or other objects, but I can see him using it more independently as he gets older. It's great for building/practicing spatial skills and fine motor control. I love that the pegs store underneath the top, and the locks are highly effective while still being child friendly (so my son can open it when he wants to, but we don't lose pegs all over the place when it goes from car to house).
It has 300 pegs that come in small, medium, and large sizes and a variety of different colors.

This kit includes 300 colorful pegs in 3 different diameters! The base holds all of the pegs when not in use. The large white peg board "locks" in place. The carrying case has built-in handles for portability and leverage. The easel stands on the base to showcase the beautiful artwork that has been created. Great for ages 4 and above.
