What fun! The pleasure's in the details, so just to name a few: the playing pieces are sturdily cast (this was an issue with Rudolf Monopoly, where Yukon Cornelius's feet are so small he won't stand up); the bills have been printed as concert tickets; the higher the denomination, the closer you are to the stage; the properties are Stones albums-- mortgage them, and the backsides of the cards have chart positions and other miscellanea about the records. The albums appear chronologically from Go, so Beggars Banquet is Mediterranean and Shine a Light is Boardwalk. (Personally, I would like to have seen the older albums represented, and it would have been nice to see Bill Wyman, Mick Taylor, and Brian Jones featured on the box and board, too. I suppose there are merchandising and other legal considerations involved.) Educational? You bet! At the very least, kids have to add and subtract money sums in their heads; beyond that, they need to evaluate the deals that define the classic "property trading game." It's one board game that draws my teenaged son away from the computer and TV once in awhile. But with this edition, there's something else: 'Is this a good album, Dad? Do you have it?'
'Sure, Bud. Let's give it a listen while we play!'
